Welcome to the 13th GERMN Biennial NMR Meeting!

The 13th GERMN Biennial NMR Meeting of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry will take place from October 5th to 7th, 2026, in the welcoming city of Ciudad Real, Spain, at the Campus Universitario of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM).

The Faculty of Chemical Sciences at UCLM, located on the Ciudad Real campus, has been a cornerstone in the training of chemistry professionals for decades. Its PhD program in Chemistry is widely recognized, and the Territorial Section of Castilla-La Mancha of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry (STCLM-RSEQ) has steadily grown in recent years, making Ciudad Real an especially fitting venue for this event.

The GERMN Meeting will bring together world-renowned scientists to share their latest advances in NMR spectroscopy, covering topics such as NMR of biological systems, small-molecule NMR, hardware, hyperpolarization, solid-state NMR, MRI, computational methods, and a new section dedicated to collaborations with industrial partners, among others.

Since the inaugural scientific meeting of the Specialized Group of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (GERMN) of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) in 2002, held in Calella de Mar (Barcelona), these events have become the primary platform for promoting and disseminating NMR-based research conducted in Spain. Since 2005, the GERMN expanded its scope by collaborating with the Ibero-American NMR community, starting with the 1st Ibero-American NMR Meeting in Angra dos Reis, Brazil. This initiative later grew to include the NMR Group (PTNMR) of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ), leading to the 1st Iberian NMR Meeting in Seville, Spain, in 2008.

The 13th GERMN Meeting promises to be an enriching and dynamic platform encompassing the latest advancements in diverse branches of NMR spectroscopy. It will feature a comprehensive program designed to ignite intellectual exchange and foster collaboration among experts, scholars, and enthusiasts in our field. Our aim is to create an inclusive environment that encourages dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange across all domains of NMR.

Ciudad Real, with its rich historical and cultural heritage, is a city that blends tradition with modernity. With an active student community, it offers a vibrant university atmosphere. Moreover, its location in the very heart of Spain makes it an ideal meeting point, easily accessible thanks to its high-speed rail links with Madrid and other major cities. Known for its relaxed pace, excellent amenities, and lively local festivals, Ciudad Real is not only an attractive destination but also a comfortable and inspiring place to host this meeting.
