Welcome to the 13th GERMN Biennial NMR Meeting!

Since the inaugural scientific meeting of the Specialized Group of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (GERMN) of the Royal Spanish Society of Chemistry (RSEQ) in 2002, held in Calella de Mar (Barcelona), these events have become the primary platform for promoting and disseminating NMR-based research conducted in Spain. Since 2005, the GERMN expanded its scope by collaborating with the Ibero-American NMR community, starting with the 1st Ibero-American NMR Meeting in Angra dos Reis, Brazil. This initiative later grew to include the NMR Group (PTNMR) of the Portuguese Chemical Society (SPQ), leading to the 1st Iberian NMR Meeting in Seville, Spain, in 2008.

The 13th GERMN Biennial NMR Meeting of the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry will take place from October 4th to 7th, 2026, in the welcoming city of Ciudad Real, Spain, at the Campus Universitario of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM).

The GERMN Meeting will bring together world-renowned scientists to share their latest advances in NMR spectroscopy, covering topics such as NMR of biological systems, small-molecule NMR, hardware, hyperpolarization, solid-state NMR, MRI, computational methods, among others:

The lectures and poster sessions will cover topics as:

  • NMR of biological systems (biosolids, proteins, nucleic acids, molecular interactions, etc.)
  • Small-molecule NMR (NMR methods, metabolomics, etc.)
  • Hardware (benchtop)
  • Hyperpolarization
  • Microfluidics
  • Solid-state NMR
  • MRI
  • EPR
  • On-cell NMR
  • Other nuclides
  • Computational methods in NMR (Artificial Intelligence..).
  • Collaborations with industrial partners
  • Practical aspects in NMR
  • Other

The 13th GERMN Meeting promises to be an enriching and dynamic platform encompassing the latest advancements in diverse branches of NMR spectroscopy. It will feature a comprehensive program designed to ignite intellectual exchange and foster collaboration among experts, scholars, and enthusiasts in our field. Our aim is to create an inclusive environment that encourages dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange across all domains of NMR.

In addition to the scientific program, a dedicated social program is currently being prepared. This program is designed to offer participants the opportunity to discover the most remarkable aspects of our region, including its cultural heritage, gastronomy, and some of its most beautiful and emblematic locations:

The program will include a theatrical performance in Almagro at the renowned Corral de Comedias de Almagro, one of the best-preserved classical theatres in Europe. Participants will also enjoy a Gala Dinner at the Parador de Almagro, a unique historical setting that reflects the architectural heritage of the area.

In addition, the well-established tapas culture of our region will be highlighted through a curated tapas route in Ciudad Real, a city where this culinary tradition is especially valued and carefully maintained.
